@BecomingCritter I guess there are never any guarantees against making mistakes in life. Something like intuition works but it isn’t infallible. I’ve noticed sometimes I’ll go against an intuitive feeling and realise later it was a mistake. On a more practical level training interoception helps
@BecomingCritter Like making sense. No or minimal internal pain. The difference between appealing a parking ticket and writing an application for a course. (Although I guess the former could also be fun with the right perspective). @Untrulie may have insights
@BecomingCritter Yeah I don’t necessarily agree with it all. But also “fun” here means something different. It’s more like attunement. those non-fun things must cohere with your wider goals and desires, in which case it can be fun. If they don’t, then that suggests there’s a deeper problem
@DavidDeutschOxf@homocafeinatus@TomTugendhat@BBCNews Why do many within enlightened societies inverse these facts? Perhaps people can’t face up to the true evil of closed cultures. So self blame creates some sense of control. If only we behaved better then everything would be ok. False, of course.
Held off commenting on rape gang inquiry because I was on late night GBN:
Being objective: It’s great that survivors were given a platform & feel like they had their stories heard, I know the feeling of being ignored is something that cuts deep after all these years, however…
@hstein3@eigenrobot I guess there will always be mutual influence to some degree. But I think the key point is the rate of change to allow a host culture to keep its general form. Seems it’s all moved far too quickly imo
@septimus8@eigenrobot I think Jenrick would have to be an actual psychopath to not see his past mistakes and seek to correct them. That’s possible. But I’m not convinced yet.
@eigenrobot@hstein3 Appreciated you even touching this subject as a larger account. Many won’t even discuss. Also people forget Elons role in getting this here.
