We will never stop doing everything in our power to help your child. We will keep fighting for them, no matter your opinions on us. I just wish the general public would be more kind and respectful to our profession as a whole 🤍
“Pediatricians only go into it because they got bad board scores and it’s the easiest to match into”. Or… we actually pursued what we were most passionate about despite the significant pay discrepancies?
Will your opinion about pediatricians change when your child stops breathing and the local peds ER saves their life? Or when they’re in critical condition and the pediatric intensivist is spending hours of their day doing everything they can to improve your child’s outcome?
I cannot put my grief into words. But… #Pediatrics does not back down. We will continue to work days and nights and holidays and weekends to do the right thing for children and families. We won’t be silenced. We won’t be bullied.
We are children’s health experts and our life’s work is protecting our most vulnerable.
Game on.
@Gabby_Brauner27 The secret they don’t want you to know…. You can literally order all the labs you can imagine, EKGs, CXRs on everyone and you don’t get dinged
@MashliLoves Signout in my program is at 7, so it’s doable for me. I also truly love going to my gym and even when the workouts suck I love being able to do it with friends I’ve made in the early morning class along the way. They hold me accountable and notice when I’m gone.
@MashliLoves Just finishing intern year in peds in a by definition pretty time intensive program, but I’ve gone pretty dang consistently 5-6 times weekly. I try to go in the morning before I get to work for signout because it takes away the part where I can talk myself out of it.
@JordyGrewal@olsonplanner What she said! Pay attention to programs that finance these things for you. It makes a huge difference. Some programs also help pay for moving expenses. I wouldn’t say you should pick a program for these things but I do think it should be a factor
