Inspired by our quote of the week, βa kind word is never wastedβ, two of my students decided to post positive messages around our classroom. It truly is about the little things.

Place value yahtzee helped us to develop our understanding of the value of digits in a number. Creating the greatest number with cards in place value war also helped us to practice reading four and five digit numbers. Thanks for the idea @MsvanderHoff@CentennialCent
Our whiteboard table was used by a group to work out three numbers that made 53,300 in today's working on it! So excited to see them put this summer project to use!
Here are some of our @clovermead highlights which included riding the school bus for those who had not taken one before. Students have been eagerly using their checklists to look for finger spaces, punctuation and a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence. @FDRooseveltPS
We made fruit salad as a class this week as part of our discussion on making healthy choices. Some of the kids were able to experience new fruits like kiwi, raspberries and cantelope donated by some of the families in our class. ππ₯
We had a great time at @clovermead on Friday! All were excited to visit the animals, pet a bee and explore the fun activities that Clovermead has to offer! ππ£ @FDRooseveltPS
Our class is extremely excited for our field trip to Clovermead tomorrow! We have been recording what we know about bees already and even tried some honey! π
Today was day 6 for our potted plants. We used recycled bottles to plant flowers for the bees we have been learning about. We will be tracking the days and measuring the plant growth. β»οΈπΌπ±
@Joe_Sheik@kraekerc It's so great to see that the Time Project has been running for so long! It was such a great experience participating in it as a student!
The waste audit at @FDRooseveltPS has sparked some recycling projects in FDK! We made two collaborative art installations to hang in our classroom from plastic bottles. We found sticks on a nature walk to hang our creation. β»οΈ

Our class has been really interested in superheroes as well as bees lately. Some have created their own superhero, symbol and have been using them in their writing. I'm so excited to see more students saying words outloud to help them sound out words! @FDRooseveltPS
