Eid is celebrated across the whole region from centuries. Just like Vasakhi, it has a special Punjabi flavour in it. PUNJABI Muslims are different from UP/CP and hold their own cultural traditions.

The Murder of Punjabi History
26 March - Dhulla Bhatti Martyrs Day

Dhulla Bhatti, known as the Robin Hood of Punjab, hailed from a family of Shaheeds. His grandfather, Sandal Bhatti, and father, Farid Bhatti, fought against the Mighty Mughals and were executed by them. Dhulla Bhatti initiated a legendary rebellion against Akbar, the mightiest Mughal emperor, songs of which have been sung for centuries, especially on Lohri 🔥.

Despite his significant role in Punjab's history, Dhulla Bhatti's name is conspicuously absent from textbooks. While a chowk in Lahore bears his name and a statue stands in Pindi Bhattian, he was buried in Miani Sahib Graveyard in Lahore with no special significance.

Just like many other sons of the soil, the true heroes of the land, Dhulla Bhatti's legacy remains overlooked in official records.
