“The military operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be stopped immediately. ANP was made unpopular through similar actions in the past. Launching operations against our own people merely to please foreign powers does not improve the situation; it only makes it worse. In these operations, on one side our security forces are killed, and on the other, our citizens lose their lives. Killing one’s own always leads to an increase in terrorism. Drone strikes taking place in Afghanistan and Pakistan must also be halted immediately.

I instruct all members of provincial and national assemblies and the senate who are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to come together and resist these operations and drone strikes against our own people, and to work for peace so that issues can be resolved through dialogue. At a time when people are already suffering from floods and unbearable inflation, they are now being subjected to military operations as well. This is extremely painful. History bears witness that apart from negotiations, there has never been any lasting solution to peace.

Afghanistan is our brotherly Muslim country. Afghan refugees have been living here for three generations. When the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) migrated to Madinah, the people opened their doors for him, and for this reason the Ansar (helpers) of Madinah are honored to this day. Yet we have made life unbearable for our Muslim brothers. Forcibly expelling refugees is deeply regrettable. Asim Munir is doing all this merely to appease the anti-Taliban lobby, deliberately imposing war in a place where no war exists. These measures must stop immediately, otherwise the situation will deteriorate further.”

In the last few days, my sons’ cousins, Shahrez & Shershah (Aleema Khan’s sons), have been abducted from their homes in front of their young children & held in prison.
Their other cousin Hassan Niazi, has been held in a military prison for over a year.
The government has also threatened my sons Sulaiman and @Kasim_Khan_1999 with arrest if they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.
No state should be allowed to target families to settle political scores.

More bad news from #Pakistan: yesterday plainclothes thugs, likely agents of the security establishment, forced their way into the home of @ImranKhanPTI's sister, Aleema Khan in Lahore. They brutally beat family members and staff and kidnapped her son, Shahreez, a young man in his twenties. This is simply barbaric. What does the de factor ruler of #Pakistan, reputed to be aiming at the role of president for life, have to say about this? Why has he taken such a step? If this was not done at his instigation, what is he doing to rescue him, return him to his family, and punish the criminals responsible?

Shahrez Khan was my senior in college, he’s an athlete, handles the family business & has nothing to do with politics. I’m worried about his abduction. Punjab Police chief is denying an arrest but should immediately work towards finding Shahrez. He was leaving today for Estonia with his wife to participate in a race/marathon and was told he couldn’t leave. His 6 and 1.5 year old witnessed their dad being dragged out. Shahrez in casual attire (shorts) was relaxing after having dinner with his father while his wife was speaking on her phone when 4 men barged in & grabbed her phone as well as taking the camera monitors set up in the kitchen. This is really disturbing.

My cousins Shahrez & Shershah have been abducted, while Hassan Niazi has been convicted in a military court. This is blatant state repression, punishing family members because the Supreme Court tried granting Imran Khan bail.

Such tactics will not break us - they only expose the injustice further. Targeting innocent family members is cruel, unlawful, and must end.

مجھ پر ایک بار پھر مکمل طور پر قید تنہائی نافذ کر دی گئی ہے۔ اہل خانہ اور وکلا سے بھی ملاقات بند کروا دی گئی ہے۔ جبکہ بیرونی دنیا اور حالاتِ حاضرہ سے بے خبر رکھنے کے لئے ہر ذریعہ معلومات، چاہے وہ ٹی وی ہو یا ا��بار، مکمل طور پر بند کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یہی غیرانسانی سلوک بشریٰ بی بی کے ساتھ بھی روا رکھا جا رہا ہے-ہماری ملاقات بھی بند کروا دی جاتی ہے- میرے اہل خانہ کی طرف سے بھیجی گئی درجنوں کتابوں میں سے گزشتہ دو ماہ میں صرف چار کتابیں فراہم کی گئیں، باقی سب ضبط کر لی گئیں۔ ذاتی ڈاکٹر تک رسائی بھی طویل عرصے سے بند ہے تاکہ صحت کا میرا بنیادی انسانی حق بھی سلب کر لیا جائے۔

ہم نے کسی بھی صورت ظلم اور جبر کے سامنے سر نہیں جھکانا۔ یاد رکھیں! اندھیری رات جتنی بھی طویل ہو، اس کی صبح ضرور طلوع ہوتی ہے۔ اس ظلمت کی رات کا خاتمہ قریب ہے، انشاءاللہ انصاف اور آزادی کا سورج جلد طلوع ہو گا-

ملک بھر میں طوفانی بارشوں اور سیلابی صورتحال سے قیمتی انسانی جانوں کا ضیاع انتہائی افسوسناک ہے- اس مش��ل وقت میں تمام قوم کو بڑھ چڑھ کر ریسکیو اینڈ ریلیف مہم کا حصہ بننا چاہیے-“
