A thing on compulsory after school CPD:

For me, it should have more value than anything else the teacher would choose to do with the equivalent time - eg. 120 mins CPD = a 120 mins nap. 120 mins CPD = 120 mins family time. 120 mins CPD = 120 mins of teacher directed CPD.

@ovierocks1 @clareaidac I have, it's a big pay cut but what I have gained in terms of work life balance and also skills to be able to build my career outside of teaching. I think it's worth it for me but I understand how pay is a reason people can't leave teaching

Leaving teaching was a tough transition, it's all I ever knew. I felt proud to be a teacher, but now I've experienced something new and a completely different lifestyle. I'm happier, I have more energy and I have more time to do the things I love 🥰
