@mikecook99@STVNews We’re not holding anyone to ransom – that’s nonsense. We exchange our labour for pay, and the government pay us what they think we are worth. It’s a relationship of consent. If you don’t think we are worth it, get rid of us and put someone in on less money.
@mikecook99@STVNews …and workload, and you’d be supporting us striking. So what I’m saying is, pay me childminder rates, and I’ll be a body in the room so that everyone else can go back to work.
@mikecook99@STVNews The only reason I say this is because you say that it’s the parents who are suffering due to time off work, so you clearly just see us as childcare, rather than educators. If you cared about the education, you’d be furious at how little we can achieve because of budget pressure…
@Indy_Is_Dead @ellabrand6 @AnneHarkins5@STVNews I’m paid to deliver excellent learning experiences when I’m in front of a class; not to deliver exam results.
@forensic_mummy @ellabrand6 @Pg7213@STVNews What other professionals are stuck on £47k for the rest of their career? 5 years at uni, self funded, student loan – stagnated after 5 years with little chance of progression.
@janealexander85@STVNews Difference is when all miss one day, everyone is at the same point. One person misses a day, they are behind everyone else. But anyone missing school is not ideal and at the end of the day, teachers want to be in school. Ask @S_A_Somerville why your kids are off this week!
@MissMcMillan17 @SSTAtradeunion@EISUnion Yes at the meeting on Monday, they said COSLA wouldn’t be pursuing members who strike in solidarity. My LA confirmed that official and unofficial industrial action are treated the same. 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m in @SSTAtradeunion but I’ll be on the picket tomorrow with my @EISUnion colleagues. I’m not letting them down and not taking a pay rise of their backs.
