'Silence of the Lambs' is my day at work! #prisonpsychologist, #mum & #entrepreneur (iOS Holiday Video Editor app), founder of 'Motherhood Against the Rules'
@wizzair my kids stranded at Edinburgh airport last night! Appalling lack of transparency, leaving customers stranded at the airport at 3am for hours after 5 hrs of being stuck on a plane and still not boarding the plane at 4pm the next day!!! HORRIFIC!! We're still in Edinburgh!
@TeachScot @ellabrand6 @Pg7213@STVNews No other one as most of them at the teachers' educational level don't pay as much. They are stuck at much less!!! How about being chartered and working as a practitioner forensic psychologist in prison 39k-42k YOU NEED TO BE CHARTERED and apply for it.
@ScotGovEdu@COSLA@scotgov Have you now got money for the rest of the hardworking public sector? How will you motivate anyone to work in other professions that now pay less for lead roles and require the highest education degrees? Have you got a plan for that? Where has the money come from? #scotgov#cosla
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews Strike for higher access to class assistants. Strike for better supplies and access to more opportunities for children so that teachers are not overwhelmed, for a revised curriculum to make it more workable. Not for more money. More money will not solve these problems.
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews I appreciate teachers and what they do. However, there is a level of inequality of professional and financial recognition due to EIS's rejection of offers that are very decent in relative terms. It will affect the lack of motivation in other professions who are just as needed.
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews No other union can utilise the power of threat as EIS does. It's higher by default as society is immediately affected by school closures. So the value is created by the level of threat rather than the level of actual input as compared to other professionals. This causes division.
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews Which positions? As psychologists are also leaving, so are nurses? So which positions are you discussing. I'm genuinely asking.
@mazinmaz@STVNews I'm debating as I've not been presented with a clear argument that would convince me why EIS's rejection is morally and logistically sustainable. The value of every profession is relative and is put against other professions. That's what we need for a fairer society.
@mazinmaz@STVNews I do because I was in Education and can see the comparison. I work with teachers day in and out. So my realistic stand is based on my experience and others in these particular sectors as well as knowledge from the gov sites I have access too.
@mazinmaz@STVNews What do you actually mean? Teachers are currently on £42k at the 5th point. They have rejected £47k. We're focusing on here and now and the economic and political climate. It's unsustainable financially to support this offer.
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews The main point is it is not required for the offer that EIS has rejected. And I respect everyone in the society including those with no degrees. Every person is needed to build our society. I dispute the inequality that is now being generated to the degree that is unsustainable.
@tuesday_mk @MistressMusical @MBgoingfor56 @STVNews@S_A_Somerville Thank you for your kind words. It's so disheartening. I was never for fighting against each other but unfortunately I feel EIS have used tactics of threat and politicising =( and it's gone too far.
@EmmaCeilidh1 @bramblepie13 @STVNews Master's degree is higher than Professional Diploma. Chartered or doctorate is higher too. Right now you can apply for a Psychologist Practitioner in the SPS and you're required to be chartered and start on £39k and max is £42k.
@mazinmaz@STVNews Yes you're right, they rejected more £47.344 .It's unsustainable and will cause terrible consequences for society in current economic and political climate. Here is the breakdown of the rejected offer. https://t.co/9dSfLELpsu.
@mazinmaz@STVNews Well, her opinion. Mine is different. I used to support you until it went too far. Money is not there so some children will have to go hungry to support such a high pay rise. And I say no to that.
@mazinmaz@STVNews Because if your salary becomes overinflated within the current context, there will be cuts in other places in the public sectors, which will affect me and ultimately my children.
@DemoBarbie@STVNews@EISGlasgow@scotgov@COSLA £47k at the 5th point not enough? Most of the professionals in the public sector are on less than £40k at the same pay point with extreme staff shortages and 1/3 of your holiday allowance. EIS has gone too far and is destroying an already fragile society.
@EISUnion Awful manipulation. How can anyone support your actions? You rejected £47k ! for a teacher at the 5th point. Most of the public sector professionals are on less than £40k at the same point and with higher qualifications. You'll deplete other professions which will destroy society
@mazinmaz@STVNews More stressful than working in prison? 34 days of AL not 13 weeks. Dangerous environment including exposure to unpredictable violent behaviors, work incl face to face very challenging intervention with different offenders inc sex offenders. Max £38k. They rejected £47k. Not ok.
