@SmallSchool_KS2@Headteacherchat 100% agree
An inspection team told me they didn’t know how I did it. But they did not say a word about it in the report.
@Emma_Turner75 Yes! I was in ITE at the time. Some students wanted us to run a module on it. So we started to put some things together.
Next thing we knew it was in the bin.
Hopefully a calmer transition this time? 🤞
@Emma_Turner75 It might be a good time to look back at the proposed Primary Curriculum for 2011 - with its six Areas of Learning and encouragement of creativity. Sir Jim Rose’s Independent Review of the Primary Curriculum. There’s a link here https://t.co/s1gfGfKjSY
@vicgoddard Oh dear me. This is very sad and somewhat disturbing. As I have said for a long time now, there’s a massive focus on *what* to do as a leader, but little will to understand the *how*.
What a dreadful state your sister’s situation reflects. I wish her the very best.
We’re back and up-and-running on https://t.co/s1gfGfJM3q
Have a look at the headlines of NFER’s Teacher Workforce 2024 report.
As usual, we’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions - by being properly informed.
@RogersHistory I wish I was like you, Tom ❤️

@Headteacherchat Ahhh. There’s nothing like administering some good, old fashioned micromanagement to indicate how little you know about someone’s role and what makes it work.
@MrARobbins Yes. Quite often the training is too generic, especially if it’s whole school. If you can’t apply the new ‘content’ effectively it soon gets dropped for the new shiny stuff.
Good to see people reading your book, Adam. I was pleased to endorse it. Bill Lowe.
@DavidNautilus1@Headteacherchat This is where any middle leader worth the title can help enormously. Helping and genuinely supporting those above you should be in your psychological contract.
I was fortunate to have those in the team. Makes a huge difference.
@Headteacherchat The problem comes when you have to apply a change that comes from above. It will often be one that the leader probably doesn’t fully agree with, but can’t get around. These things happen in the non-idealistic world.
