We all have a responsibility to do something about this. One of the most powerful ways of making girls feel safe is staff challenging sexualised language. Every time. Never, ever accepting “it’s banter” https://t.co/qqFsZaByzz
75% of transgender students reported they felt unsafe at school in 2021, according to new data from GLSEN. One in three trans students missed school in the prior month out of fear of harassment and one in five changed schools altogether. https://t.co/EDjCizPBsM
@janetifimust My cat will only drink water out of highball glasses. Very occasionally she will deign to use a tumbler style glass (especially if I'm trying to drink from it). She flat out refuses to drink from a bowl.
@Richard_W_Beard Top tips for anyone new to doing this: make sure your hands are very wet and also that you only have bubbles above and not below your hands.
And yes definitely no students allowed, let them set you on fire instead... Still engaging for them and much safer!
The idea that any one group of people is a specific danger to children erodes safeguarding. Safeguarding needs to be as unbiased to be effective. Interest 🧵
"We need a national demographic strategy" is the most white middle class euphemism I have ever heard for "The Nazis had the right idea, let's be horrendously racist and bring back eugenics"
"We need a national demographic strategy, both in terms of immigration and for incentivising families to have more children and to have them when they are younger" https://t.co/wxndjFoJld

@SenecaLearn Being able to set assignments from multiple courses must be up there!
Also an option to get emailed reports when an assignment you set is due?
@doc_kristy Yes it's a great prac to prompt discussion. We actually ended up finishing a bit late as none of them noticed it was time to pack up and then we're surprised when I told them. #actualengagment
@MBDscience@StuartLock@grahamchatterl2@JulesDaulby Please reconsider your response. It comes across as if you are belittling the experience of staff who have experienced discrimination. I think all of is recognise exclusions are an absolute worse case scenario, but sometimes it is needed to meet our duty of care.
What do I think about the most recent two front pages in the times in which they managed to shoehorn teachers and trans children into headline news...
... That old BJ and the Tories must be having a shit couple of news cycles.
