Startling. These @NASAWebb images are sinking in. If we can see objects so far away and so far back in time with this clarity, imagine, too, the acuity with which we might see nearer objects. A Big Historian might imagine that new unforeseen possibilites will emerge ...
WEBB Deep field image. Seen from Earth, per NASA, an area of the sky the size of a grain of sand held at arm's length. All those dots are not stars, but GALAXIES, each one billions of stars. This is 13 billion light years away - so the light is from 13 billion years back in time.
