@educator4ever36 I can’t even teach seminar style in college anymore because if they don’t read then discussion is harder and admin says I have to do games instead. What do you recommend?
@grandmasbo75710@MsEscoTeaches @shesmiles717 If teachers get another job to pay their bills in the summer, what’s stopping them from staying in the better-paying job year round? Then who will teach your children?
@Chicken_Fat82 @MsEscoTeaches The time off that they get isn’t paid. They get the whole summer off, great. You could have the whole summer off too if you didn’t want to get paid for summer either. See how it works?
@cpaforerp@karen_kelowna Ideally people would follow isolation guidelines if they knew they had a positive result. But if they don’t care about others’ health enough to test or isolate, sure they COULD isolate without testing but they probably won’t.
@MrDanielBuck Isn’t there ANY way to prevent the digital literacy backslide though? Of course I don’t agree with students using AI instead of doing their own assignments, but how are they supposed to learn how to use technology appropriately out in the real world if nobody teaches them?
@CatminACAB@SketchesbyBoze 100% agree. I think the odd thing here is that it was used in a book and not just on a social media platform. But perhaps that was intentional, to show that the character was also trying to evade censorship. Or to evade censorship if the line was quoted on social media, as it is.
@ChooseLove86@PeterGraziano8@SketchesbyBoze I can only imagine that perhaps they didn’t want the reach to be throttled on anyone quoting that line. Or they wanted to get the publicity from someone quoting that line to make fun of it. 😆
@heymrsbond I mean I wouldn’t judge someone for not wanting to spend their own time and money decorating their classroom to the nines, but I also wouldn’t shame them for it.
@dieworkwear I think your problem was your audience. People who are still on X are overwhelmingly not going to be receptive to anything that smacks of truth or compassion. Like I said when I previously commented on your thread, I only check X periodically anymore and I don’t really use it…
@AllisonETEC The states that don’t have unions, though, teachers can’t even earn a living wage and would literally make more in fast food. Education is inherently political and teachers deserve to get paid enough to survive.
@Elisabeth13@TFLA_Tweets That’s awesome! I’m trying to see if I can get anything ready in German to make it worth teachers’ while to try out my site so I can go this year. Last year that was the big disappointment for a lot of people, that I didn’t offer German yet…
@arw_poetry@dieworkwear I’m not surprised at the replies - this is X, after all. I only open it occasionally anymore and I’m glad I did today because I happened to see this thread. But I usually ignore it because ew.
@educator4ever36@RobertSpenser20 The problem is that students wouldn’t pass them because teachers aren’t allowed to actually teach in ways that work. Many have to just mindlessly go through the textbook, so unless you test on that specific way that they were required to teach, which doesn’t tell you much…
