As Vermont closes in on 80% of our 12+ population vaccinated, there are just 3 people hospitalized in the entire state with COVID-19. Yesterday, we reported just 2 new cases, and thankfully, we have not reported a death from COVID-19 in two weeks.

My 7yo, who has worn a mask every day all day for the last 11 months, learning that vaccinated people are going to be able to take off their masks...and that he’s still not eligible to get the vaccine.

Has anyone figured out a way to just magically be comfortable around maskless (vaccinated) people once vaccinated? My circle is beginning to open up (not my choice) and I am not there yet, but I have to be because my living situation doesn't give me the option. Any tips?

On March 11, President Biden announced that he was opening up all vaccination sites to all adults by May 1.

Today, he announced he’s moving up the date to April 19.

That means in less than two weeks, every adult will be eligible to get vaccinated.

@PeterLangella Two of my cousins and my uncle are some of those people currently infected after hockey. The fact that we don’t know if they will be okay in the long run is concerning. This should have been prevented by canceling sports and being more liberal with schools going remote.

I’m appalled. I hope that our state’s pushing for these sports don’t result in long-lasting effects. I hope all recover well. We should have done better by our students and communities.

To clarify, our students are getting sick. Our adults are getting sick. I'm sure partly from pandemic fatigue and families not following safety measures, but as people talk about reopening more, remember that those unvaccinated and vulnerable are our students. #vted

I don't know about your district, but I know of at least 4 classrooms and a school sent remote for cases and MANY adults and students told to quarantine due to class and sports cases. This is not okay. We have a problem in VT schools. We need a reset of two weeks. @GovPhilScott
