🇵🇰🇸🇦🇹🇷 Makkah Alliance for Defense: A New Step Toward Collective Security

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye convened an emergency meeting of the Strategic-Political and Defense Committee in Riyadh on 5 October 2026.

The Committee appointed Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood (Ret.) of Pakistan as the Alliance’s first Secretary-General for a three-year term and reaffirmed the three countries’ commitment to collective defense.

The Parties also condemned attacks and threats against Saudi Arabia and agreed to move toward the practical implementation of collective defense commitments, including measures to strengthen readiness, military integration and collective capabilities.

The Ministry of Information & Minister for Information @TararAttaullah has clarified that reports of road closures in Islamabad are inaccurate. All major roads remain open, and lawful movement of citizens continues.

Containers have been placed as a precautionary security measure, in line with directions from the Islamabad High Court, to safeguard citizens, critical infrastructure and sensitive installations.

Security measures should be reported in their proper context, based on facts rather than misleading narratives.
