It wasn’t abuse it was about respect and discipline. And while I don’t agree with all his methods we grew up to be respectful adults.

@PopePrious @EliMcCann We mixed eggnog with milk 50/50 and then extra cinnamon so it didn’t taste quite as diluted. I never had full strength eggnog until I was an adult. We also had 8 kids!

@aubreyannie @EliMcCann Grew up with bread on the table for every meal. And drinking milk for dinner. And applesauce as a dinner side. In fairness we still drink milk for dinner and all the Texans think we’re crazy 🤷‍♀️

@planetJoseph @EliMcCann We were never lucky enough to get spaghetti-o’s… we were always jealous of the kids that got spaghetti-o’s, hot pockets and cold cereal in a box (because our cereal was cream of wheat or oatmeal).

It would be fun to know how some of these meals originated. My kids are picky… if I said we’re eat tuna mixed with stuff served over toast they wouldn’t touch it. But we loved it. Comfort food at its best.
