Today marks the day when our great grand-Shaykh, Sayyidunā Imām al-Rabbānī Aḥmad al-Fārūqī al-Sirhindī, the Mujaddid of the second millennium, whom the Prophet ﷺ and the Awliyāʾ themselves foretold about, left this world.

He was a direct descendant of Sayyidunā ʿUmar al-Fārūq ibn al-Khaṭṭāb and is known by the title ‘Mujaddid Alf al-Thānī’ (the Reviver of the Second Millennium). He is most famously known for his Jihād against perennialism, heresies, pseudo-Ṣūfism and his remarkable efforts in reviving the Sunnah in the Subcontinent as well as strict adherence to Sharīʿah.

All the major and famous suborders of Naqshbandī Ṭarīqa in countries like Türkiye, Pakistan, India and Afghanistan trace their spiritual lineage through Imām al-Rabbānī known as the Mujaddidī path. The specialty of Mujaddidī path is that Imām al-Rabbānī managed to combine fuyūd of all the major Ṭuruq (Qādrī, Chishtī, Suhrwardī) – into his own distinct Mujaddidī path (the Golden Chain).

He was only seventeen years old when he completed his education, in possession of ijāzāt in all the branches of religious and positive sciences, as well as in sciences called Furūʾ and Uṣūl. 🧵
