Question of the week:
This is what happens when the entire of Northern Ireland's Educational Computer Management system (C2K) is taken off line, after it becomes the target of a cyber‑attack?
@KQuigg82 In order of importance and effectiveness
1. Naproxen Tablets (From your Doctor)
2. Ibuprofen 500mg
3. Deep Heat mixed with Vodka (The vodka is not to be used for consumption)
4. Alcohol and loads of it. (This *IS* to be used for consumption)
(Thank me later)
@KQuigg82 I'm a strong supporter of the view that a very tidy prep room is a sign of an idle Technician. I am deliberately relaxed about keeping my area clean. I am too busy to daily brush or wash floors and/or file everything away in nice neat trays and boxes.
@ScietechSmith 32 years as a technician. I'm now 61. It took me a long time to realize that my health is important. Far more important than any practical. If I'm genuinely unwell, I will take the necessary time of work. If they cannot survive without you then its time for additional support
Ahhh the Power of the Technician.
Forget to bring me home a Fridge magnet from holidays then you will spend eternity freezing in Hell before I set up your next Science Practical.
Strangely....it works a treat!
After quite a hectic and very successful Open day in St. Colmans College, Newry the entire of the event practicals....are now stacked up in my prep room waiting for me to sort it out tomorrow morning. For once in my life, I am not looking forward to going into work!
My food order never arrived, & the (famous) food company wrongly claimed it had. The restaurant confirmed it wasn’t delivered, & the owner recognised me from times I’d helped him with Sci Practicals. He apologised, refunded me, and offered my wife & me a free takeaway as thanks.
@ScietechSmith The bit on the left hand side, depending on long it is, if you cut that off it could by itself be repurposed for something else. I've seen practical's looking for long coils of wire.
@ScietechSmith@VITTAEducation Either
(a) You need to power cycle and do a re-calibration of the balance. Check the manual for how to do this.
or
(b) A load cell is faulty A load cell is a type of sensor, or transducer. If that is the case its a job for Philip Harris Techlab guys or somebody experienced
