@Cernovich It's simply what Republicans do these days. It's also the reason we do not donate to the national party @GOP anymore - only to specific highly principled conservative individuals we trust will keep their promises.
@17blackdev@Variety@BaronDestructo@martingero@GateWorld I have no insight into Amazon's specific decision regarding Stargate but I do know this current leadership team has a bias for high paced, action-driven, plot lines and may see Stargate as too cerebral to quickly engage the average modern viewer.
@seanmdav Truth is both pieces of legislation are bad - for very different reasons. They're are also pristine examples of what you get when Congress doesn't do its job to communicate, debate and legislate with the good of the American people as the single most important priority.
You're right Kyle. Senator Collins is poised to lose her seat to a Dem, not because the people of Maine have moved further left but because the see her as a do nothing Senator and Platner is vehemently promising to actually work for them. All @SenatorCollins has to do is work to pass the SAVE America Act and move other core legislation forward that's languishing due to Thune's lack of leadership.
@JohnCornyn Your profile states you are "Proudly representing #Texas in the U.S. Senate." but you're not representing the vast majority of Texas. @KenPaxtonTX will do a much better job.

@realTanyaTay Very true! I distinctly remember the Bicentennial celebrations in 1976. It was a very big deal across the US. This year seems very different. Makes me sad.
@ABC@ABCPolitics, You've left out a very important fact in your reporting. The Congressional Black Caucus (@TheBlackCaucus) consists solely of Democrats who have refused to allow any of the five black Republicans currently serving in Congress to join their Caucus.
More proof @Kate_Kelly_Esq rarely posts anything that stands up to academic research. The absolute assertion "rape did not exist" among Native nations (or "native nations" in what is now the United States and broader North America) prior to European contact is historically inaccurate. In most Indigenous societies, especially those with strong matrilineal kinship, egalitarian structures, or high status for women, sexual violence appears to have been rare, taboo, and severely punished. Women's roles in governance, property control, and clan systems often deterred such acts because they threatened communal harmony and were seen as violations of relationality/spiritual balance. Rape and sexual violence did occur pre-contact. Anthropological consensus rejects the "rape-free" utopia as a romanticized "noble savage" trope which dates to 19th-century feminist idealizations of Iroquois women. As an example, Mesoamerican empires (e.g., Aztecs) had well-documented warfare involving sexual violence against captives. Even within what became the U.S./Canada, tribal laws harshly punishing rape indicate it happened enough to require rules.
Senator, Please tell your colleagues, including Leader Thune, to stop being intuitionalists who prioritize Senate tradition over results. It's time to throw those old ways out. Democrats will do that the moment they take power. End the filibuster, but preserve floor debate, and ignore or replace the Senate Parliamentarian but require Committee review and markup. Then pass the SAVE America Act, protect current and enact new tax cuts, and reduce the size and scope of the federal government.
