Learned how to use the laser cutter to cut cardboard today. I made a great visual for the Civil Engineering unit... used a contour map to make a 3 dimensional contour plot. Such a great use of technology! Excited to build in more student projects!
MESA Engrg students practicing for their "Pop up" Challenge. They get a box with miscellaneous items, a task that they have not seen, and a limited amount of time to design & execute a solution. Today they had to design a mechanical sorter. Great Engineering minds at work!
We're helping people to think again when it comes to engineering, and challenge narrow perceptions of what it means to be an engineer.

@kimsweck This is great practice for them. I always say Excel is an Engineer's best friend. It allows them to see how useful the software is, design a spreadsheet themselves, familiarize themselves with the Statics concepts, and have a way to check their work.
My sophomore Engineering students designed some Excel spreadsheets to aid an engineer with resolving triangular forces and simplifying distributed loads in Coplanar force problems. These are some of the best. Amazing work!! So proud of their work!!
Eastern Tech students kicking off our MESA meetings by getting started working on their Wearable Technology, Expandable Structures, and National Engineering Design Competitions. Let the creative genius begin! I am really looking forward to seeing their creative design solutions.
@goku622498 @JamieRGurganus@CTE_BaltCoPS@AEEngEdu That is the font he prefers to work in... students have the ability to modify their preferences in Matlab, so they do so.

The future hasn't been invented yet. It's up to engineers to shape it.
From the big to the small, from technology to medicine, it's problem-solving visionaries who will make it happen and leave their mark on the world. #ThisisEngineering: https://t.co/cGppGoob0q
Open House tonight at Eastern Tech!! So proud of my students with all the presentations, demos, and interactions with potential students. Such an amazing night!! Go TECH. Go ENGINEERING.
