@firstlegoleague I am reminded that a child’s brain has no limitations. I asked my sts to draw an innovator and their ideas far surpassed mine! Fashion designers, chefs, musicians, and even Michael Jackson’s Moonwalk were all discussed! they are leaning to think outside the box!

@Classroomscreen I have 4 live webcams from Iceland, Argentina, Australia and Kenya going on simultaneously so my kinders can study weather in different places. Classroom screen allows me to put all four webcams and the current temperature of each on one screen! So easy!

@alicekeeler STICKERS!!! Such a simple thing, but kids will do a lot for a sticker! My husband is a college professor and has found quiz scores are always higher when stickers are involved.
Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help!

Fifth graders complimenting a lesson and asking for more like it is a rare occurrence, but I’ve had at least one child in each class (4 of them) say something positive! Total WIN!!

@InfyFoundation @CodeJoyEdu @microbit_edu Spiders v prey. Challenge 1: create a web to catch prey and program a Micro:Bit to detect movement in web. Challenge 2: get through the web without setting off Micro:Bit motion detector.

@molsen14 @InfyFoundation @CodeJoyEdu @microbit_edu A lesson? Not on paper, sorry, but we needed more than 45 min. to make this lesson as effective as it should have been. I needed more time for planning, discussing results, and redesign. We used the “simple tilt alarm” code to start. More doorways would have also been great😂

@CodeJoyEdu @InfyFoundation Many thanks for the inspiration. Spiders vs. prey. Ss built a web while other Ss programmed the Micro:bit to detect movement. After attaching the MB to the web, Ss had to move from one side or the other without sounding alarm!

Need advice!! Am teaching elem. STEM lab for first time. Anyone have a great resource to assess computational thinking? I would measure results through a coding curriculum. I don’t give grades, but I do need a way to measure growth. Would love some thoughts and ideas!! TIA!
