I don't understand the aversion to using gen AI tools for animation. We've already been using computers to reduce the workload for decades. I doubt human artists are 100% removed here, this is likely just automating more of the process. Certainly prefer this to Korean sweatshops.
'El Tigre' co-creator Jorge R. Gutierrez has an animated show greenlit through Amazon MGM's new GenAI Creator's Fund
He reportedly said animating with AI is so fast itโs like 'having sex and then they hand you the baby'

@HankVenture5 Please point me to the "menial zero skill work" that pays $25/hr? For fucks sake, even the national median hourly wage across all occupations falls short of that; $24.51/hr according the most recent BLS OEWS data. Meanwhile 25th percentile wage sits at just $18.07/hr.
In the 1960's, food made up 1/3rd of the average households income expenditure. Now it's barely 1/10th. COL is now dominated by housing costs, not food. The monthly savings from buying a $7 frozen pizza every Friday instead spending $14 at the local pizzeria are almost negligible
The biggest thing happening behind the scenes in the "expensive lunch" discourse is that Zoomers are eating out at ridiculously high rates.
It's a silent assumption for a ton of young people that restaurants are a basic necessity, not an occasional treat.
@SAcerton@lone_rides In many states, Walmart *still* pays so little full time workers qualify for SNAP actually. Base hourly rate for Walmart is $14/hr. In PA, the single person household gross income threshold for SNAP eligibility is $2610/month. $14/hr x 40hr/w x 4w = $2,240.
@Seleck84@MarcoFoster_@RepAOC Except Elon didn't actually make the car. Most of the actual work was done by underpaid and overworked H1B's, with the raw materials harvested through borderline slave labor in underdeveloped nations. Elon's real job is optimizing and protecting this system of exploitation.
@NormandyShaun@JadenJTW Well it's the exact same dilemma. Removing the blue button from the equation doesn't change anything because the blue button doesn't actually do anything. The only choice that has any impact is whether you choose to press the red button or not.
@JadenJTW Red looks a lot more like a murder button if you remove blue. Consider this, instead of the choice being to push blue or red, the choice is instead to push the button, or to not push the button. If >50% of humanity chooses to push, everyone who didn't push the button dies.
@Sean09711499@HubPointless Oh I'm not saying invincible could match xm-97 visually with "moar budget" alone. I'm saying budget is a significant factor in the lackluster animation quality, not the sole cause.
@HubPointless For reference, Xm-97 Season 1 had over 80 key animators, despite having a much shorter runtime vs invincible season 3 (~4.8hrs vs ~6.3hrs, excluding credits). And imo, that show looks fucking beautiful.
@HubPointless Eh, I genuinely think a bit more budget could go a long way. The compositing team is genuinely tiny, and part of the reason they abuse tweening so much is the lack of key animators. Even posted a meme about it last year for season 3.
I can not understand what the big deal is with pasteurization? It's literally just heating milk for a set time then rapidly cooling it
No chemicals, no high tech equipment, it's just heated milk
โI WOULD DIE FOR ISRAELโ why is a senator from South Carolina, a state with an incredibly low Jewish population, simping SO HARD for a foreign country? Money? Blackmail? Or something elseโฆ

What's funny is this grift completely falls apart if you flip the genders. If a man found out that one of their college bros was born with a pussy and he went on Fox News to describe how he was retroactively traumatized by the experience, nobody would give a fuck.
>have college roommates
>one is trans, don't even notice. everything is fine
>graduate
>years go by
>bored and washed up after college volleyball ended
>find out old roommate was trans
>Jackpot.jpg
>go on fox news
>profit
are we just an infinite money glitch to people like this

"JPMorgan estimates that, had Germany not phased out nuclear power, the country would have generated 50% less electricity from fossil fuels and 84% less electricity from natural gas in 2024. Electricity prices in Germany would have been around 25% lower, and the country would have imported half as much electricity.."
