On 29 November 2025, the Junior Development team celebrated our athletes at their year-end function. And while celebrating the juniors, they also celebrated their Juniors Director, Sphiwe Nkosi — a leader the team choose four years ago when the program started and stepped into the role with no experience, only passion and a willing heart.

Under his leadership, the program grew from nothing to over 70 registered kids, a strong competitive presence at Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) track, field, and cross-country events, athletes winning road-race prizes, athletes representing Gauteng, and the launch of a powerful community reading program.

Hats off to a leader who serves with vision, commitment, and selflessness. He always credits the coaches and volunteers, yet rarely acknowledges the incredible work he himself has done.

We honour you, Sphiwe.
Keep going, the Alex community sees you amd as the Athletics Club we thank you, Sir.
