Meet Xavier Penetrante, a third-year honors neuroscience student at the U of A researching traumatic brain injury at the Allison Lab.
Working with Dr. Ted Allison and Dr. Tanja Zerulla, Xavier studies the behaviour and cognition of zebrafish larvae to support impactful research on neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's. From a U of A ambassador to a student researcher, Xavier is making an impact in both science and advocacy.

Meet Shayleen Ghassemi, a PhD student at the University of Alberta exploring how space affects brain health.
Her research on microgravity and cosmic radiation is heading to the International Space Station. From undergrad to pioneering neuroscience in space, Shayleen is making an impact in both science and advocacy. https://t.co/18xnR2IIQm
Lisa Stein (Biological Sciences) says in large-scale climate solutions, microbes are underutilized and overlooked. Stein explains how these organisms could be used to target methane that is already circulating in the atmosphere.
