For nearly 20 years, @CreightonForTX has served the people of Texas as a legislator. His tremendous track record of leadership and unwavering dedication to higher education will continue to elevate and strengthen the TTU System and serve the people of our great state and beyond.
During a special-called meeting today (Sept. 4), the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents unanimously voted to name @CreightonForTX the sole finalist for the position of chancellor and chief executive officer of the TTU System.
With his nearly 20-year tenure as an elected official in Texas, along with deep knowledge of higher education, strong relationships and dedication, Senator Creighton is uniquely positioned to support the mission of the Texas Tech University System and continue its path of growth and success.
Following a required 21-day waiting period, the board will schedule a special-called meeting to take final action on the employment of the candidate.

I’m excited to welcome Eli as our next student regent and look forward to the work he and the board will do together over the coming year.
He joins the list of incredible students who have served as the voice of their peers across the TTU System, and I thank him for his service.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Eli Heath as the student regent for the TTU System Board of Regents for the 2025-26 academic year!
He becomes the 20th student to serve on the TTU System Board of Regents and the seventh from @TexasTech.

For far too long, the #Borderplex was underserved in terms of accessible, quality dental care. That changed in 2021 when we welcomed the first students to the Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
Yesterday, we celebrated another milestone: their graduation. Congrats, Class of 2025!
The School of Veterinary Medicine was created to address critical workforce needs in West Texas and the state. The goal was to develop a pipeline for veterinary workers to fill these gaps.
I’m proud to say that we have accomplished what we set out to do. It’s incredible!
