The left views this as a tragedy because they lack the basic cognitive ability to understand that a host culture has every right to demand conformity. If she were truly as brilliant as she claims, she would grasp the social contract. Instead, she plays the victim, a favorite pastime for those who want the benefits of the West without the burden of belonging. If she finds the French so intolerable, the solution is simple: move to a country that shares her values. Our borders should be as firm as our cultural standards.
