It's not the moderate Democrat voters that are the problem. The spineless Democrats in Congress have overlooked and failed to pushback on the leftists they welcomed into their party. The tried to claim that the "mostly peaceful protests" were far right violence while liberal cities burned.

The same party that pushed for stronger border controls and deportations is a shell of what it used to be.
Clinton changed the law to speed up deportations, and Obama deported three million people without anybody fighting ICE.
Obama actually awarded Tom Homan the Presidential Award for Service for his role.

Most people on the right would agree with you that the Republicans are spineless, but the Dems have been in charge 12 out of the last 18 years. We were here already.

They also damaged:

• Children’s education and development.

• Mental health

• Non-COVID medical care and screenings

• Physical health and activity levels

• Trust in science & Doctors

• Civil liberties and basic freedoms

• Long term productivity and future earnings

The costs went far beyond the virus itself.
