“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”
Embryos are inevitably lost regardless. Women who need IVF are passing 100% of their fertilized eggs. IVF is a net gain in life created. I prefer to celebrate the life made instead of rage about the life lost. I cant prevent the lives lost, but I can cherish the life created.
If you grant that certain modes of conception are immoral (e.g. rape, incest), then 'my friend wouldn't have his kid w/o IVF' isn't sufficient to defend the practice. When one considers what IVF practically entails—murder, commoditizing human life, etc.—one finds it indefensible.
@farzyness "Simulation theory says that it’s extremely unlikely that we live in base reality. Therefore it’s extremely likely that we live in a simulation."
This logic doesn't work.
@alex_avoigt@basilthegreat 1: Crime statistics are nearly impossible to compare internationally as definitions of crime differ wildly from country to country. These stats are at best misinformation, but generally they are simply lies.
2: When the police do not enforce the laws, less crimes are reported.
@entropyrian Delusional take. If the left had been in control of govt the entire time this would be a valid assessment. It hasn't been.
When the right controls govt they do not undo leftist policy, they don't advance conservative policy. They don't even try to.
@Drfahadalnajjar@thehealthb0t Are you stupid? The vaccine doesn't prevent COVID, it doesn't work. So you're only adding to the risk even assuming hes correct about the risk from COVID being higher (which of course is just more bullshit)
@rustyshack234@darryl_le_roux@stopvaccinating@amandalitman Funny you bring up "the jungles". Vaccinated/unvaxed cohorts are closer to 60/40%, because we have global vaccine data, not just data from the west.
I'm also not an anti vaxer. But the brainwashed on either side of this debate discard all nuance when making their assumptions.
