Visited the Lumière Museum and the screening room where Eega and RRR was screened to a full house in Lyon, France.
Thierry Frémaux, the director of the Institut Lumière and the Cannes Film Festival, was gracious enough to introduce me. Then he said he had planned a surprise and walked me through the very street where cinema was born. I was already emotional for everything that was happening around me.
And there is this wall full of plaques. Names of legends like Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino, Francis Ford Coppola… and then I noticed a plate covered with a red cloth. My mind went blank.
I don’t even know what to say for the honour of having my name permanently placed on the Mur des Cinéastes, along with the greats.
Only gratitude. Deeply, deeply humbled. 🙏
Thank you @InstitutLumiere for a memory I will carry for a lifetime.
Sangam Literatures mentions Kalvar Koman Pulli, who ruled Tirupati Regions as Vadugar (Telugu) not Tamil.
Tamils referred to Telugus as "Vadugar," which literally means "northerners" some 2000 years ago
His original family name was Getti Bommu. In #Telugu, Getti means strong or heroic, while Bommu means figure or form. Over time, the Telugu title evolved into #Kattabomman in Tamil, a name that became synonymous with resistance and courage.

"Why do non Tamilians care about Murugan/Karthikeyan? They don't worship him"
This is what some are arguing 🤣
Dude
Bihar's biggest festival is dedicated to celebrating Chatti Maiya, which is regional name for Shashthi Devi... Who is also known as Devasena, wife of Skanda
Gupta Empire, one of the biggest empires ever from India, was highly devoted to Kumar... This empire was based in Patliputra, today's Bihar
Reason why their emperors were named Kumaragupta and Skandagupta
Kumar was/is accepted widely across India as a respectful form of address to call any young man
In many states of India, today Kumar has become caste neutral identity and many adapted it as surname
Have you ever seen any portrait of Shiva/Parvati across India? They have Ganesh and Kumar together
They are worshipped together... All this Murugan is not worshipped outside Tamil community is nonsense
There are several prominent temples outside Tamil Nadu including in Himalayan states
Only thing true is that Tamilians accepted him more strongly than other communities

Andhra Pradesh has two major rivers- Godavari and Krishna, along with Penna, Tungabhadra, and a whole lot of smaller rivers, tributaries.
While we know about Godavari and Krishna, not much is known about the other rivers. This thread takes a look at some of them.
