Today we would like to honor the profound legacy and memory of Fethullah Gulen, a globally acknowledged leader who embraced humanity with compassion and devoted his life to fostering generations committed to promoting dialogue and sustainable peace among all religions, beliefs, and cultures. We invite all to resonate with the message he extended for the 9th Annual SDGs Conference: In the Margins of the UNGA79 on September 2024.

PANEL 2: Women and Youth as Leaders for Civic Engagement and Social Change is now underway at the 10th Annual SDGs Conference 2025, convened in the margins of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Moderated by Ernest Alesin, Vice-Chairman for International Affairs at the Lithuanian Union of Journalists, the session opened with a call to move beyond symbolic representation toward meaningful participation by young people and women. Alesin noted the normalization of women’s leadership across senior government portfolios, including at the level of prime minister, and the growing presence of youth voices taking the floor, describing these trends as transformative for democratic life. He emphasized that the future of governance hinges on institutions capable of withstanding crisis while reflecting the perspectives of future generations, urging systems that embed women’s and youths’ participation as a norm rather than an exception.

4 years ago, on September 21, 2021, the Alliance for Shared Values, together with Hizmet-affiliated nonprofits worldwide, released Core Values of the Hizmet Movement — a landmark document that continues to guide the movement’s activities.
The Hizmet movement is a civil society movement committed to the ideals of living together in peace and serving humanity, and it works within the framework of social responsibility and philanthropy. The movement is centered on the concept of altruistic volunteerism and prioritizes education, dialogue and humanitarian aid in its activities. It is a peaceful movement that embraces religious, social and cultural diversity and is inspired by Islamic and universal humanitarian values.
This publication codifies 12 values that have long been lived and practiced in Hizmet, reflecting insights from diverse voices across generations, professions, and communities.

¡Seguimos!
