@HannahWardEdu Waldorf toys are the absolute best! And they are open ended too. The magnets are not traditional Waldorf toys but I think it fits into to the Waldorf theme of open ended play.
Where are the girlies that want to learn how to do their own makeup??
I’m so proud that Toromade was able to do this on her own after our 3rd class. Toromade lives in Nairobi and opted for a Virtual DIY class. Distance is definitely not a barrier if you’re learning with me!🤭
@HannahWardEdu Currently reading this with Miss 4 (our first chapter book) and it’s amazing to see how she is following along. My favourite part is her recounting what happened in previous chapters before the next one. Next up is Velveteen Rabbit.
@HannahWardEdu@rayengroves Thank you for sharing this. I have been looking for resources for MYO cards. The bills are stacking on the cards. My girl is currently obsessed with Robin Hood. So, looking into introducing more classic stories to her.
For a young reader building a foundation: start with Sherlock Holmes and The Once and Future King. When they're ready, give them all of Dickens and all of Dumas. And don't overlook Little Britches, one of the most formative books I've encountered. Pile the shelves high and let them explore.
@HippyMomPhD I actually agree. Volcano experiment with my 4 year old very quickly turns into a potion making session and a mama what’s next? Marathon. 🤣🤣🤣… I agree she might still be a bit young, but her eyes light every time I say science experiment. So, that’s a win ♥️
@HannahWardEdu We read and listened to this book everyday last month. Then I went and got a collection of Dr Seuss books last week. No we are on to green eggs and ham 😩😩😂😂
I love how milk is so alive it’s almost schizophrenic. Put some cultures in and it yogurtfies. Add some acid, you’ve got cheese. Hundred of types of cheese based on just waiting times. Insane. Cook it and it caramelizes into thick nectar. Steam it and a cappuccino is born.
Ice cream. Sweetened condensed. Goat milk. Sour cream. Heavy cream. Raw. Buttermilk. Powdered milk. Milk chocolate.
We love milk so much we speak about percentages of it, like gold carats.
Milk is foundational. Biblical. Something maternal and natural and feminine about it. Milk is alive
It is done. Here are clickable links of over 400 books in the western canon, separated by age group. It's meant for all of you who want the best for your child's education and for your own as well.
The good news? Emily Dickinson was right when she said of books: "How frugal is the chariot that bears the human soul."

Lose the laptops; add Cornell Notes.
My students learn so much faster because Cornell notes make reviews and repetition part of the lesson, and make studying after the lesson much more efficient. This means we also free up instructional days so we can learn more over the course of the year.

This video will gladden your heart.
I heard this young man is the valedictorian for his graduating class in the PanAfrican University.
Every nigerian needs to watch this video. Our future needs more young people who are this intelligent.

*SKINCARE FOR DUMMIES*
I say this as a beauty junkie- this tweet is 100% accurate. It can be really overwhelming to wade through the ads and misinformation, so I’m putting together a little primer thread on where to start if you don’t know where to start 🧵:
Don't be scared to be called an aggressive Black woman or man when it comes to your children.
Me, I don't make threats, I report to the police, council and the local MP.
Then book a 1to1 meeting with the headteacher, then we will TALK!
When it comes to children - I'm a Lioness all-day 👏🏾
