This man (Philani Potwana) is the reason why you can withdraw money at an ATM without a card.
Philani Potwana, an FNB employee is behind the invention. FNB was named the world innovative bank after this invention back in 2012.
"I wanted people to withdraw money without bank cards. Little did I know the idea was a 1st in the world"
PLEASE REPOST:
I built South Africa's first black-owned electric vehicle company.
I have deployed 70+ EVs with Blue Chip Companies, Local SMEs and exported to the UAE.
I have invested R9.5 million of my own money over 10 years.
The IDC has given me R0.
They gave a white-owned competitor R69.9 million.

I get the impression the government, ANC in particular have no idea on how to create jobs, stem job losses in mines, manufacturing especially in steel, clothing the car industry. It’s more a finda-finda. No discernible industrial policy, beneficiation and stemming cheap imports
“If you want to destroy a country, you must corrupt the youth and dump them in the abysmal sea of ignorance then pretend to be their life guard.
Encourage them to worship idiots presented as idols, their oppressors presented as their saviours and traitors of the revolution presented as their struggle heroes.” ~ Mzilikazi wa Afrika #WakeUpEverybody✊🏿
Son… heartache is a forge. Not a curse. Not a punishment. A forge.
Most men waste it crying over what left.
But the ones who understand…
They build from it.
You don’t sharpen iron with comfort.
You sharpen it with friction.
So when she left?
That wasn’t your failure....it was the pressure test.
To see if you’d crack… or crystallize.
Here’s the truth most won’t tell you: The man you were when she met you wasn’t good enough to lead an empire.
But the man you become after this pain?
He doesn’t beg.
He doesn’t chase.
He creates gravity and the world starts orbiting him.
So cry if you must.
But cry while lifting.
Cry while building.
Cry while becoming something no one can walk away from again.
Because in this life, women leave.
But real men?
They resurrect. And they never come back the same.
@BafanaSurprise My contention has always been that the ANC has been able to stay in power due to the high levels of illiteracy in this country. People talk about government as if it's some spiritually ordained entity with limitless powers.
As a woman, you don’t have forever. Your beauty, your options and your chances at real love all come with an expiration date. Time is not your friend, but social media sells the lie that you’re timeless. Then reality shows up quietly and painfully, with no applause.
Few things are frustrating me more than watching people asking Cyril Ramaphosa to investigate Senzo Mchunu & deal with him.
The same Cyril implicated in the State Capture Commission linking him to dodgy dealings with Glencore in Eskom.
The same Marikana Lonmin Cyril where miners were gunned down.
The same Cyril who had hundreds of thousands of dollars in his couches at Phala Phala.
The same Cyril whose bank statements were sealed, so we couldn't see who's given him money.
The same Cyril who has never done anything to corrupt politicians in his cabinet and party.
The same Cyril who was head when R500bln in Covid relief money was looted.
The same Cyril who bought his presidency in the ANC.
Anyone who expects Cyril to resolve issues in this country, is either ignorant, delusional or benefiting in some way from this criminal govt.
You cannot expect the leader of a criminal organization to ethically deal with his fellow criminal comrades to get rid of crime. That's silly.
South Africa is a company, with legit and illegal businesses. The wealthy rent politicians to manage their business interests.
Nothing will change unless you deal with those wealthy people directly, and then their proxies, like Cyril.
Removing Senzo Mchunu won't change anything.
The drug cartels will still operate through new proxies in govt.
The SAn govt, & the ANC, are glorified servants of the biggest organized crime leaders in the world.
Including drugs, banking, pharmaceuticals & mining.
When I was in school, I did not think my life would turn into anything worth mentioning. After matric, I had made peace with the idea of working as a cashier at the local Edgars in East London on Oxford Street. (They never called me back after I dropped off my CV. So Milky Lane was next.) My mother, of course, had bigger dreams for me than I had for myself. But that’s a story for another day.
Why did I think life would just drift into nothingness? Well, throughout most of school, I only had one badge on my blazer. My name. Eventually, I got a second one. Library Monitor (It's that black badge on blazer). I would look at the kids whose blazers were heavy with honours and colours as if they came from another world. I assumed their futures were sorted and mine was not.
But life had other plans. I found my way into advertising. I won the first Gold Cannes Lion awarded to a black South African, along with Ntsikelelo Nukwa. Then came the Gold Eagle. Then the elusive Black Eagle, which hadn’t been awarded in over a decade.
More Cannes Lions followed. One Shows. Loeries. Other awards too. Eventually, I started writing and one of my books was even shortlisted for the Alan Paton Prize.
Sometimes you'll think it's a mistake. That you're an imposter. You don't belong. Other times other people may think you don't deserve to be where you are. Doesn't matter. Keep at it.
So here’s what I’ve learned: even if you have no idea where what you’re doing is taking you, keep doing it. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Life may take the long way around, but it gets you there. Some people are lucky, they’ve always known where they’re going. Some of us aren’t. But even when you don’t know, life sometimes finds a way to figure it out for you. Just don’t stop.
What I am trying to say is this: be inspired by others, but only ever compete against yourself. You are not running their race. You’re running yours.
You’re gonna be ok. Things always work out, not always the way you imagined, but they do work out.
Most importantly, never forget where you come from, nor the long road it took to get you there. And take nothing for granted.
One last thing. This may seem ironic considering the trophies, while accolades are great to have, there are things that are far more important. What really matters, no trophy can capture. Because what lasts is how you lived, who you lifted, your resilience, your humility, and whether you stayed true to yourself.
Trophies gather dust. Character doesn’t.
Most of us grow up thinking taxes pay for everything the government does—schools, roads, hospitals, etc. We’re told that if we want better services, the government has to “raise money” through taxes. But here’s the truth: That’s not how it works.
