ایسے کئی لوگ پختون وطن میں جاری بدامنی اور ڈالر کی جنگوں سے ہونے والی تباہی سے بخوبی باخبر تھے۔ وہ سب کچھ اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھ رہے تھے کہ پنجاب سے آئے ہوئے جرنیل ہمارے وطن کو جنگوں اور تباہی کی طرف دھکیل رہے ہیں، لیکن کچھ کر نہیں سکتے تھے۔ کیونکہ جو شخص معمولی سی بھی مزاحمت یا اختلاف کی کوشش کرتا، اسے اپنی جگہ سے ہٹا دیا جاتا، اور اس کی آواز ہمیشہ کے لیے خاموش کر دی جاتی۔
