@typingloudly @magdajtaylor I suppose this can depend on which decade you are talking about, cable certainly made it easier for people to spend more time watching TV, but for the most part before phones people were out in the world living their lives.

Working harder does not over come support structures and capital investment.
Anyone who has achieved success is because people in positions of power investing either their time or knowledge or money or all.
