I must believe this would be playing out differently if Cdn govts had retained the significant equity share of GM they earned by saving the company in 2009 (as @UniforTheUnion urged), instead of selling it back to the financiers for cheep. Many global OEMs have sig. public equity

@Tom_Parkin_ Still, we are paying interest on debt to private entities (banks etc) for these bonds, and we shouldn't, just like we didn't do it before 1974. (Sheer is a corporate shill and only interested in cutting services and privatization, that's not in discussion)
