Thanks to Polygon community's vocal demand, the team has been working on a staking and tokenomics overhaul proposal. I just saw it and I can't stop myself from sharing some sneak peeks.
We delivered 10x growth this year in revenue. We delivered 5k tps, we delivered 25% reduction in blocktimes and are on track to deliver <1 sec blocktimes. Now its stakers' turn to get their fair share 👀
→ Native, L1-like staking on Polygon POS alongside Ethereum staking.
→ Priority fees from every transaction will flow to POL stakers. This is already approved in PIP-85 but the rollout is slow because of challenges of implementing it on Ethereum. Native staking makes implementation much cleaner.
→ Staking yield projected to almost double, funded by real network fees, not inflation
→ Additional benefits for Staking POL to incentivize more POL staking, possibly discounted gas fees
→ sPOL growth locked in - stay liquid, keep earning, use it across DeFi
→ Polygon labs will build the code and put proposal in the community forum for approval
Real usage → real fees → real rewards for the people securing the network.
@firesidealpha No, you just realize that you have a PR problem and want to talk down the damage that your product will do. Your company is all about winning and not about safety or helping the world. And you no longer can control your own models. You will say whatever you need to lower heat.
@RepThomasMassie Why are elected positions being passed on to family members? That’s monarchy. Is his sister truly the most qualified person in the state? Did they do a search an assessment to figure that out in this short time?
@_The_Prophet__ Yes - you give away your IP and unique abilities when you train models to replicate your thought process. You give it the models and whomever owns the model. Labor law needs to evolve to give employees the rights to retain their own skills.
@KRL_defi_ I’m pretty sure that a contract that says 50 million is worth 50 million (maybe with parts that you have to earn). I think that the real problem is that your bank account is not worth 50 million after you buy a bunch of nice cars and houses.
@shanaka86 Not sure what people think that they are actually buying. Trying to play part of the market nonsense, yes. But buying into this business model and governance? Don’t get that.
@HalfwayPost No! You think? Given Kushner’s deep background in diplomacy, international relations, and decades of experience working with the politics and cultures of the Middle East, why should he question?
Placing shares of AI companies in a public fund will bring no $$$ value to Americans. The fund won’t sell shares so the only return will be dividends. Total dividends in 2025 from companies like Apple and Google ran $10-15 billion. About $25 per citizen. That’s your UBI. #AI
@Patrickwebb Is he blocked or is he one of the few Presidents that has tried to avoid a proper review process? Our system is designed for Congress to oversee the executive branch. That should remain the case for both democratic and republican presidents
Trillion $$ IPOs for companies losing billions at 100x revenue.
Laws changing to force them into 401ks.
This shit.
Fuck dude. We are heading toward something dark.
@Web3Marmot SpaceX IPO is designed to throw everyone under the bus. Small float. Early index entry which breaks the rules. Indices have to chase artificially low supply of shares to align index. Price goes up for months. Lock-up ends. Insiders sell. Price drops. Wall Street at its worst.
@r0ck3t23 No. The obvious question is HOW will everything become available to everyone, especially if they don’t work? Is Elon going to volunteer his robots to give free services? Will tech companies no longer want profits? They are trying to sell the public on their tech. That’s all.
@Patrickwebb Why do we accept this type of nonsense from our politicians? How can the US government not know its holdings? Why should I trust a President who can’t ascertain something that basic to be capable of anything? And it’s not just Trump. We need better politicians in both parties.
