@elonmusk Dear Elon, We urgently seek your help. Many talented individuals, including AI professionals, are stuck in administrative processing for U.S. visas under section 221(g). Despite approved petitions, we're waiting 9-12+ months post-interview. This delay harms innovation.
@Aviora_D@elonmusk@elonmusk I'm waiting for my O1 (extraordinary talent visa!) administrative processing myself since September with no movement, can't start work at NIST. Things like this not only harm people, they halt scientific and technology progress in the USA.
Just got news from @SPIEtweets that my talk is rescheduled to August 22nd. Great news! I hope the majority of talks will be rescheduled, and also that some kind of spreadsheet with the reschedules will be posted.

I was also looking forward to many keynotes, invited talks and plenaries - maybe at least these talks could be salvaged and rescheduled. At least they could offer to upload talks recordings? Let's see what SPIE people will decide TODAY, but currently it is a disappointment

Somehow still no information from @SPIEtweets about SPIE optics+photonics first day reschedule. Rumors are that most of talks will end up being canceled (one of mine too 😢)
Anyway, this is so bad - even on a short notice I feel that it could be moved to Zoom...

@SPIEtweets @dbrunner_lab @GGoery@VolpeResearch Hopes are up for the possibility to reschedule. Maybe more parallel sessions or later talks. Worst case is publishing recordings online maybe? But that's really the worst considering how SPIE showed themselves with online conferences =D
Anyway looking forward to the solution
@igordownunder@SPIEtweets Okay it looks like it is really canceled completely. But there were so many good presentations (and one my presentation) I was looking forward to...
@hankgreen I got a few nice goods there, this is not the greatest quality ever but it works and also offer returns and so on. Overall 5 stars. Also, they got me by ads, so it kinda worked
