How does the system work?

Machine learning is used to analyse historical and real-time acoustic patterns, making it easier for the operator to monitor the operation.

The graph is used instead of spectogram or oscillogram to represent acoustic data.

This is because the unusual signal patterns occur at a stationary point in a repeated format over specific time period.

Leaks occur as a result of intrusion activities or pitting corossion. These patterns are recognised by the system because they occur at a stationary point.

Intrusion:

When there is an intrusion activity like drilling, excavation, hammering etc. the system picks up the signals and reports it as a warning. The peculiar thing about these signals is that they occur at a stationary point, in a consistent repettition.

Pipeline Inspection Gauge (PIG):

Clearing PIG moves in a linear motion creating higher acoustic signals. The system measures these signals and monitors its movement incase it gets stuck as a result of debris or no pressure.

Corossion Progression:

The system keeps track of uniform corrosion and informs the operator when the next possible maintenance should take place.

When there is pressure from the wellhead the movement of crude oil or gas and PIG, it creates acoustic signals, often distributed along the line. The system measures and records them in; amplitude (dB), frequency (Hz), pressure (Pa) Intensity (w/m2)
