My uncle Cletus worked high paying corporate jobs his whole life and had nothing to show for it.
Then his wife "stole" his money.
Here's what actually happened:
She never denied it.
When he called a family meeting both sides present ready to expose her.
She walked in calm. Pulled out documents.
And handed him the title to a piece of land. In his name.
The room went silent.
My dad said it first "Cletus, you idiot.
She didn't steal from you. She saved you from yourself."
He just sat there. Apologized
After years of six figure salaries
The only asset he ever had to his name was bought by a woman he was about to publicly humiliate.
Now here's the part that will either make you laugh or cry
What did Uncle Cletus do with the land?
@arojinle1 My dog isnt a people's dog.
E the change am for bad behaviour. One day I pretended to jump into the compound at night to see its reaction come and see drama. It nearly cost my legs till it hard my voice saying stop.
Some persons are really greedy.
Some one i did three months blue tick worth 10k is under a give away post of 2k.
Lets see how we can also support others, because you are not the only one in need and i am not foolish to keep going your way.
My friend's brother lost everything at 34.
Business failed.
Apartment gone.
Relationship ended the same month.
He moved back into his childhood bedroom.
Same bed he slept in at 16.
His mother left food outside the door because he would not come out.
For three weeks he just sat in that room.
On the fourth week he opened his phone.
Not to job hunt.
Not to scroll.
Just to think.
He started typing everything he had learned from failing.
What he did wrong.
What he would do differently.
What nobody tells you about running a business until it is too late.
He posted it online without thinking twice.
It got shared 4,000 times overnight.
People flooded his comments.
"This is the most honest thing I have read all year."
"Please write more."
"Have you considered teaching this?"
He stared at his phone screen for a long time.
Then started writing again.
Month 2 — he had a newsletter with 8,000 subscribers.
Month 4 — businesses were paying him to consult on the exact mistakes he had made.
Month 6 — he moved out of that childhood bedroom.
Month 9 — he launched a digital course built entirely from his failure.
It sold out in 72 hours.
He called his mother after the last sale.
"Remember when you left food outside my door?"
She laughed softly.
"I remember."
"That room saved me," he said.
"No," she replied.
"You saved yourself in that room."
Your most public failure is sometimes your most valuable content.
Package the lesson before someone else does.
I know you have given up on God and now say things like, there is no God or God does not answer prayers but please just one more time, Join NSPPD Morning Prayer.

Please read and digest this post if you are looking for a job.
Applied to ExxonMobil 3 times, I didn't get past the application stage twice. It was my 3rd attempt that I got the job. Please apply for a job just one more time and even if it doesn't come, apply again.
I know you have sent your CV to many places, you have sent over 200 CVs still no response, I say to you, apply one more time.
Am not saying it has to be Exxonmobil (EM) or any other Oil and Gas company. It can be any other other company. The website to apply for jobs in EM is https://t.co/XqZ2Ofz9Sc & for Shell, it is https://t.co/dWIIWRaquW
You need a job because bills must be paid. You need a job because there is Dignity in Labour. You need a job because my money and our money are 2 different things.
Working for an Oil and Gas company was my Goal. While I was in UNIUYO, I told my friends that I would work for an International Oil Company (IOC).
People used to laugh and say, you think it is easy to get an oil company job, told them I would get it and I did.
Mind you, I didn't study a science course in the University. I was a science student in FGGC Ikot Obio Itong/Ikot Abasi, passed Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry but hated Physics & didn't excel at it. Guess why? My Physics Teacher, Mr. Enema was born again and always talked about God. It annoyed me so much that the moment he walked into class, I walked out.
Long story short, I dumped science & studied Economics in UNIUYO. People told me I needed to study a science course to get an Oil company job.
My eldest brother, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia Jnr AKA Badanz, my paddy for life said to me, Mfon, how do you think you are going to get an Oil company job? He said, Go get your Masters. Didn't have masters, told myself, there are people who don't have masters but work in oil companies. Get your Masters if you can and want to do so. It's a plus.
Companies invited me to write tests but didn't go past the test stage.
Travelled to Lagos to write Ernst & Young , KPMG and Augusto & Co tests.
When I did KPMG test, we were told that they would get back to us the next day. Guess what? I got a response same day that I was not successful. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh, told my twin sister (a Christian to the core) the outcome and she said, Mfon, your job is not in Lagos. She was living and working in Lagos at that time. Guess what? She was right. My job was not Lagos, It was in Akwa Ibom State where I worked and fought for my people.
Travelled back to PH, didn't give up and kept applying. My Dad, My No 1 Cheerleader kept paying for flights to go write those tests. Never for once did he complain that he was spending money and I wasn't getting any job.
Was constantly buying Tuesday and Thursday Guardian Newspapers to search for jobs till my Dad asked me to stop and offered to buy them for me.
Got back to PH and my elder sister said, Mfon, you are too intelligent, why are you not passing all these tests? She was working in Shell at that time so I knew anything I said won't make sense to her so I kept quiet.
She gave me a GMAT book to practice and said, go practice the questions and I did.
It's my story and I share it to encourage at least one person out there not to give up applying for jobs.
All you need is one Yes and I pray you get that one Yes that will change your life forever.
I got a Yes and it ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil changed my life forever!
Thank you for reading, now go apply for that job.
Fridays hit differently, not because I’m stepping out, but because I can finally schedule my favorite weekend activity: sleeping without guilt, eating like I’ve earned it, and disappearing into rest mode.
So if I ever promised you my time this weekend, please kindly defer it, adulthood didn’t come with onboarding, I just found myself inside it and they’ve been updating the requirements ever since.
To my fellow working people and especially mothers, you know the truth: weekends aren’t for plans anymore, they’re for recovery.
My first failure in Canada happened somewhere I had been confident for years.
I had it all planned. Get the driving licence. If a job does not come through immediately, Uber is the backup. 🇨🇦
I took the lessons. Studied the rules. Booked the Full G in Toronto.
Test was going well. Then on the way back I needed to turn left. A car was coming. In my mind it was far enough.
In Nigeria I would have gone. 🇳🇬
I went. 😭
The examiner said nothing.
I parked. Thought I had passed.
“Why didn’t you give way to that vehicle.”
I had no answer.
“Unfortunately you have not passed today.”
In Nigeria I would have begged. But I know say oyibo no dey hear ‘Oga abeg’
I said thank you and walked out. Water nearly comot for my eyes 😭
Went back to Naija that December and within 30 minutes of landing I knew why I failed 😭
Nobody checks lanes. Nobody waits. We just move the car and trust God.
Based on how you drive in Nigeria do you think you would ever pass a driving test abroad? 😂
P.S If you think Canada’s test is bad I hear the UK’s is worse 🫵🏽
My dad woke me for 3 nights in a row at 3 am.
Telling me what to expect in the case of his demise.
He kept on telling me secrets he never shared with my mum.
He told me how he was proud of me and the battles I will have in life. Told me take care of your mum, she was gift to me from God. I was so pissed, and lashed at him, in his normal ways he said it will make sense soon.
Next morning he asked me to fuel the corolla, that he wanted to drive one last time.
He came home slept into a coma.
This happened in just 6 days.
This man a big customer of mine, came to my shop on Friday last week, he cleared all his debt.
We talked that Friday, and on Saturday I also saw him, we greeted and talked for a while.
On Sunday I heard he slvmped and died while dancing in church on Sunday.
Just like that!, a man looking very healthy, fresh, and happy. And just like that he’s no more.
Till today I am still in shock.
Aang’s kids dealing with family drama and his favoritism
Kya: ‘You think you’re some savior who has to carry on Dad’s legacy.’
Tenzin: ‘Who else is going to do it?’
Kya: ‘How about all of us!’
Bumi: ‘Yeah, we’re Aang’s kids too.’
Sibling rivalries hit different when your dad is the Avatar 😭
Who was right, Kya or Tenzin?
