Northern Parula and Arrowhead Warbler, Jamaica 2026. Despite seeing quite a few, I struggled using the heavy Nikon 200-500 lens given unpredictable feeding movement and changing light.
Black-and-white Warbler, Jamaica, March 2026. Doesn't matter where you see them, always beautifully striking; reminds me of a humbug sweet. This one was certainly more obliging than the odd ones I've seen in the UK.
An enjoyable trip to Jamaica with Birdfinders this March produced all 28 endemics! A few pics here of my favorites: Jamaican Owl, Jamaican Tody, Red-billed Streamertail, Crested Quail-dove.
After having being storm blown in to a local garden overnight, delighted to release this Little Auk - known here in Shetland as a 'Rotchie' - back to the open ocean this afternoon. Little Auks really are little - about half the size of a Puffin and about the size of a Starling!
A trip to Cornwall today to see the Steppe Grey Shrike. Very windy weather made phone scoping a bit challenging. A stop off enroute to see the Lesser Yellowlegs at Truro made a good day. Also Chough and Curlew Sand seen today.

I've enjoyed 14 Isabelline Shrikes since my first at Sidlesham in 1975 but, since the taxonomic split with Red-tailed Shrike, apparently none of them is good enough now – until this gorgeous adult male at Lady's Island Lake. What a beaut!
We only found one Crab Plover during our time on the Seychelles, but I always find waders are far more approachable when on their own - this one certainly no exception.
🎉🎉🎉 omg, I may never get a better shot of a Northern Flicker in flight! I spotted this beauty on a Central Park tree trunk this morning, and it was kind enough to fly right at me! ❤️💛🖤 #Flicker#CentralPark#birdcpp
