Mfazi was also involved in investigating aspects of the Phala Phala matter but not the farm robbery, but allegations surrounding the use of state resources in a clandestine investigation.
In his diary, General Mfazi also records that he was โcirclingโ a former minister who was allegedly working with drug dealers.
Then there is the disturbing aftermath of his death: allegations that his Pretoria home was ransacked while his body lay on his bed, with sensitive documents removed and his cellphone allegedly wiped.
Mfaziโs death was initially attributed to Covid-19. However, his widow, Lindelwa Mfazi, reportedly suspected foul play and pushed for his body to be exhumed. Toxicology tests subsequently found evidence of a poisonous substance.
