A few reflections after 48 hours:
- I knew this truck would have some degree of ‘wow factor’ … but I don’t think I appreciated how insane reactions would be. It would be easier to count the cars / people that don’t take pictures, I even had a McLaren maneuver around a few lanes to film the truck. I think I’d get less attention in a Bugatti.
- I’ve owned 7 Teslas since 2018 (3YS) and this truck is unbelievably refined. The ride is smooth, steer by wire makes a 7,000lbs truck glide. It looks incredible but as more people experience this vehicle, you’ll realize how the new tech comes together.
- I’ve never had a truck, nor have I considered one. But I’m surprised how practical and well thought out all the space is - the back seats that fold up make for a perfect area for our 3 dogs.
- And also not talked about enough IMO… this sound system is extraordinary. If you like music, this truck feels like a concert (just make sure to adjust audio settings, subwoofers up!)🔊
… oh, and it fits in the garage !
@McClain_on_NFL Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I'll never feel bad selling those tickets for the decade I bought them with the garbage they put on the field.
Tesla will offer Cybertruck wraps in satin white and satin black, in addition to a clear wrap to show off the natural stainless steel.
Which one do you want? I’m going to go with the black personally.
This might not be the best way to look at it, but $50k in 2019 is $60k today. If we subtract the $7,500 Fed EV from the current $80k AWD Cybertruck price that brings us to $72,500. So for that extra 20% price increase you get 40 more miles of range, 1k more towing, 0.5s better 0-60mph than was promised in 2019.
If you live in Colorado you can chop another $5k off the price since they have great EV incentives. That would bring it to $67,500, or roughly 2% higher than the average transaction price of a pickup truck in the US in October 2023.
Again, it's a little complicated and probably not the best way to think about it lol, but for those who qualify for the EV credit and can get great state incentives you can buy the Cybertruck AWD for a really good price relatively speaking.
The Dual Motor Cybertruck is a massive disappointment.
We were promised a 4.5s 0 - 60. Instead we only got 4.
We were promised 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. Instead we only got 11,000
The range was supposed to be 300+ they only gave us 340 extendable to 470.
Luckily, the payload capacity was increased from 3,500 to 2,500, top speed was increased from 120 to 112, and price is $72,500 instead of just $50,000.
I am incredibly proud to announce that the Cybertruck has been officially launched! This momentous achievement is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication from engineering, supply chain & manufacturing.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to our Closures, Exteriors & Lighting team for their unwavering commitment to this project. They have worked tirelessly to overcome every challenge and bring this truck to life.
Thank you 🙏 & I hope you enjoy driving your trucks.
“I've done more for the environment than any single human on earth. What I care about is the reality of goodness, not the perception of it - and what I see all over the place is people who care about looking good while doing evil," Elon Musk has said.
@dillonloomis@SawyerMerritt Because they don't have anyone in PR so it was just Elon with zero practice winging it. It was by far the most glaring event showing how they need help. Even the lighting wasn't pointed at his head.
The tailgate (ramp) is a joke. Wish they would sell the tailgate replacement. You need 2 of these for 800 dollars to put your cyber quad in the back. That's nuts.
This is the change in Cybertruck pricing from the first unveil in November 21, 2019 to today. What do you all think about the final price? @Tesla
