You used to have your bet ideas in the shower, now you have a waterproof speaker. You used to get lost in thought waiting for the train, now you have a phone to fill the gap. You used to daydream on long flights, now there's a screen in your hand and on the seat in front of you. You used to think on your morning commute, now you have a podcast playing before you leave the house.
We used to stare in to the sky or into a fire and let our minds drift, now we have TVs and phone to replace that. We filled every silence and lost all of our peace, creativity and ideas that lived within that silence.
Fascinating but deeply concerning article on a timeline of Australia's path to slowly running out of fuel.

Japan Panicking over 254 days of oil, Australia only has 24.... Australia is not run by serious people, absolute disgrace of an administration for decades, both parties need to be dismantled.
Chris Bowen just admitted that we don't have any real amount of strategic fuel reserve here in Australia.
Our reserves remain under the control of the USA.
We no longer have the capacity to refine commercial quantities of our own fuel onshore.
Because Australia is the worst place to do anything hard. Because the laws, regulations and red tape are at stupid levels.
Every Australian will pay the price of decades of an incompetent and corrupt government.
There is something about getting older that gently changes how you see life. You begin to move with more awareness, not because you have lost ambition, but because you understand what effort truly costs. Noise becomes less attractive. Silence starts to feel like clarity.
You stop rushing to prove points or impress people who will not matter in the long run. Decisions become slower, but they are cleaner. You learn that not every opportunity deserves your energy and not every battle deserves your voice.
Getting older teaches you patience with yourself. You begin to accept your pace, your limits, and your season without resentment. The urgency of youth softens into intention. You still want progress, but you want peace alongside it.
You also become more honest about time. You recognize that waiting endlessly has a price, but so does rushing blindly. Balance becomes the quiet goal. Building carefully, resting when needed, and choosing what truly aligns with who you are becoming.
There is a calm that comes with age when you allow it. Not the calm of giving up, but the calm of understanding. And in that understanding, life starts to feel less chaotic and more meaningful.
Critical thinking is now a superpower. It requires a level of discipline to challenge our biases and sit in the uncomfortableness of cognitive dissonance.
You don’t need to have an opinion on everything. Opinion culture has us believe that we have to take a stance on everything. It drains our dopamine and ability to be in a calm nervous system.
Neutrality is a lost art.
@andrewschulz That was me too. Laughed, then cried, then laughed, all in one minute. Saw you live in Brisbane, Australia, you are a blessing in this crazy world, Andrew. 🙏🏽
