@_Leila@NHDesignerMom@wendyshalit@LeilaMillerLCB I started veiling not long ago after listening to this sermon https://t.co/ydS4oCLx8v
I definitely felt awkward for about the first month even though thankfully I to go to a NO parish where about half the women veil.
@RobTriumphnt151@TaylorRMarshall@JimSichko @BradBradsweet Actually says “Do not be afraid to take Mary, your wife, into your home.” They were married. Matthew specifically calls Joseph “her husband.”
@EricRSammons My husband’s friend started RCIA at our parish and is thoroughly unimpressed. My husband has been talking to him about the Faith for a long time and it felt like such a win when he decided to go, but now it almost seems like a step backwards.
@StefMNicholas @_Leila@suededsusan I hadn’t thought about it like that before, but I think @suededsusan is right. It does seem that you’re giving your fiancé something that is not yet rightfully his. There are plenty of ways to plan or prepare for marriage without acting like you’re already married.
@AskYourHusband@Rich_Cooper@AskYourHusband wut? Having dated in the “Catholic dating bubble”, this attitude is a huge problem. The reality is that some of us have college debt or have made mistakes in our past. Does that mean we’re not good enough? Truly condescending...
I made my husband’s house (now also my house) into a warm, inviting home and I am sitting here sipping a glass of wine, surveying my work and feeling very proud of myself.
Someone come over and tell me what a good job I did!
Apparently all it takes to get my husband to take me out for breakfast is making him pancakes with double the amount of baking soda and baking powder. Logging that one away.
I was at the DMV yesterday and remarked how I’ve had no trouble changing my name even though I was told it would be a headache.
The lady said: “Just wait until you get divorced.”
1) What a horrible thing to say to a newlywed.
2) What a heartbreaking point of view.
@ZacMabry Only if there are jellies involved. And those flying fairy toys that get tangled in my sisters’ hair every damn time. Ooh and corduroy overalls. White ones.
@OldSoulRadTrad On Christmas Eve night we would gather around and my Dad would read to us. First the Nativity story from the Gospel of Luke and then ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. It was a magical, precious tradition that I will definitely be carrying on with my own children.
