Place yourself on “death ground,” where your back is against the wall and you have to fight like hell to get out alive.
The failure threshold:
There are a minimum amount of failures you need to go through before you achieve any kind of success. It doesn't matter how much you learn or practice. If you aren't building in the real world, you are delaying those failures (and your success) longer.
The best periods of my life always came after a period of getting absolutely fed up with the lack of progress I was making.
