@scarylawyerguy If the R’s don’t increase their baseline midterm turnout, Talarico needs D’s to exceed their baseline midterm turnout (like 2018), win at least 65% of the independent voters, get a decent share of GOP voters. Needs big margins in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso
@freyaunfiltered Agree 110%! Here’s the reality, with few exceptions, every Republican U.S. Senator and U.S. House Rep is another vote FOR the disastrous Trump agenda. Democrats need the majority back in both chambers, but even one would be a major blow to MAGA.
@hilo236@NickyScatz That’s not possible because in Texas the deadline to declare an independent candidacy is the same deadline to file as a republican or Democrat
@TheDunkCentral@TheAthletic I like Mike but Kevin Harlan is the number NBA voice at the moment (and basically since Marv Albert retired). Is Harlan really going to be off NBA telecasts completely?
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
@TyDurden616095 @mblehrhoff @jessesingal@mattyglesias Replacing Biden with someone else. No one has a clear answer as to whether all 50 states (and D.C.) would allow him to be replaced on the ballot.
@Authw8@AllanMuldowney@JoePostingg Completely wrong. In the summer of 2028, if the Democrat with the most delegates (via the primary elections) is behind in the polls, is the party going to ask that candidate to step as is too?
@PassTheTorch24 You folks should be ashamed of yourselves. You could have spent this valuable time contacting voters (blockwalking, phone banking,etc.).
I’m going to say this as clearly as I can… if you are a Democratic Party elected official, pundit, etc focus your time (especially TV time) talking about how disastrous Trump, Vance, your opponent (if you have one), and Trump’s Project 2025 will be to the nation. Full stop. If you are not then you definitely aren’t helping! #CourseCorrect
I’m a broken record, but please remember these 3 truths:
1. Donald Trump is a genuine threat to democracy and the rule of law.
2. There are more Americans who oppose Trump than there are Americans who support him.
3. So if all those Americans who oppose Trump vote for the Democratic nominee, NO MATTER WHO THAT NOMINEE IS, Trump loses. And there’s not a damn thing Trump can do about it.
So please ignore all the Biden “is he in, is he out” machinations and simply commit to vote for the Democratic nominee NO MATTER WHO IT IS. And relax. And have a nice weekend.
@TheOneCA2021@lxeagle17 If this is true, I’m alarmed that voters would still be ok with Trump being President - Commander-in-Chief, appoints Cabinet members, makes Supreme Court nominations.
Ted Cruz: Trump is a pathological liar. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth. He is a narcissist, a bully, and a philanderer. Think about your kids emulating him
BREAKING: The Biden campaign just released a montage of all the Nikki Haley voters who publicly have endorsed President Biden. Retweet to make sure all Americans see this.
@Adriana1o5 @JacobRubashkin@DemFromCT I don’t understand ticket-splitting for federal elections (President, House, & Senate). If a voter likes the Democratic Senate nominee how would that senator be effective with Trump as President?
JD Vance, who called Trump “America’s Hitler” and a “cynical asshole,” and said that any American would have to be an “idiot” to vote for him, has been selected as Trump’s running mate.
