Governor Greg Abbott (@GovAbbottPress) officially declared Texas as the financial capital of America at the TBA’s 141st Annual Convention.
"Our banking sector’s strength and depth is a true differentiator not seen in other states or other countries,” said TBA President & Chris Furlow (@texasbankersCEO). “America is choosing Texas. The world is choosing Texas.”
Enjoyed meeting with @texasbankersCEO Chris Furlow & other members of @texasbankers leadership to discuss the CLARITY Act and how Congress can ensure that Texans' hard-earned money remains secure.
@JohnCornyn@texasbankers Thank you Senator @johncornyn for listening to the important perspectives of community bankers at the heart of our local economies. As we innovate, we must protect deposits and local lending for families, small businesses & farmers/ranchers.
Across the country, community bankers serve as the first line of defense in our financial infrastructure.
In Houston, I spoke with more than a dozen bankers about how financial institutions must remain vigilant against illicit financial activity associated with the unlawful employment of illegal aliens. Texas community banks see firsthand the challenges and pressures that illegal immigration places on local communities and the financial system, making them key partners in identifying risks and protecting the integrity of our banking sector.
The Trump Administration will always fight to protect our borders, defend American workers, and preserve the integrity of our financial institutions.
Thank you @ABABankers for joining with our Texas community bankers, members from across the state, and the @texasbankers Foundation to help families in the impacted areas. These folks have again endured mightily, so the support from across the country is greatly appreciated. https://t.co/HOufPd8wyW
Breaking News: The Texas Bankers Foundation reopens its Flood Relief Fund to support communities affected by severe storms and flooding across Southwest Texas, the Hill Country, and other parts of the state.
The Foundation is coordinating with TDEM, local bank leaders, and community organizations across the affected areas.
“Texas community bankers do not wait on the sidelines when their neighbors are hurting. They take action,” said TBA President & CEO Chris Furlow.

Texas Bankers Association President and CEO Chris Furlow @texasbankersCEO called the news another example of “America’s financial infrastructure pivot to Texas.”
Morgan Stanley selects Uptown Dallas for regional headquarters, signaling major momentum for the city’s fast-growing financial corridor. https://t.co/Nzt9NhZXTF
Thank you @USTreasury@SecScottBessent & @USOCC@uscomptroller for a productive meeting with TX community bankers who are the frontlines of fighting fraud & ensuring financial system integrity. @texasbankers is grateful for the direct engagement on this and other key issues.
Texas Bankers Association President & CEO Chris Furlow was interviewed by WBAP following Governor Greg Abbott's declaration that Texas has become America's new financial capital at TBA's 141st Annual Convention last month.
This announcement coincides with Texas surpassing New York in employment within the financial services sector (excluding insurance and real estate). Over the past decade, the industry has experienced more rapid growth in Texas than in New York.
“This is no longer Texas becoming America’s financial services capital. You’re seeing it happen right before our eyes,” Furlow said.

Governor Abbott declared Texas the “Financial Capital of America” as Dallas’ “Y’all Street” momentum continues to grow.
With the Texas Stock Exchange, Nasdaq expansion, & continued business investment, Texas is leading the nation in jobs, innovation, & economic opportunity.
Great discussion yesterday at the @TexasBankers Association’s 141st Annual Convention in Dallas as leaders from across the financial sector came together around the theme “Texas: America’s New Financial Capital!”
From the new Texas Stock Exchange to pro-growth financial reforms, I'm excited to help lead the future of finance and the work we’ve advanced that is positioning Texas as the premier destination for investment, innovation, and economic opportunity. The momentum behind Texas has never been stronger!
Tim Tebow opened his keynote with a personal story about a defining moment in his life: choosing where to play college football. With multiple offers on the table, the decision was anything but simple. What ultimately guided him was one person, Urban Meyer, head football coach at the University of Florida. They believed in each other, and that mutual belief shaped Tebow’s path forward.
He emphasized the extraordinary power of believing in people—and how that belief can change lives. It’s a principle so important to him that he founded the Tim Tebow Foundation, dedicated to bringing Faith, Hope and Love to those who need a brighter day in their darkest hour. Jimmy Allen, Director of the McCoy College of Business Banking Program at Texas State University shared why investing in the future of banking through student education is more important now than ever. The next generation of bankers will shape the industry, and developing strong talent starts in the classroom. Four Texas State students nearing graduation joined the stage to highlight what they’ve learned through the university’s banking program and how it has prepared them for careers in the financial sector.
