The Humble King who rides a donkey on his way to die for his enemies.
The Kind Leader who enters our cities to serve, not to dominate.
The Carpenter from Nazareth who builds a table of inclusion for all.
No armies.
No weapons.
No hate.
Get off our high horses.
Follow Jesus.
Russell Moore told NPR that evangelical pastors he works with are facing pushback when preaching the words and ethics of Jesus. He said, “Multiple pastors tell me, essentially, the same story about quoting Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount [and] to have someone come up after to say, ‘Where did you get those liberal talking points?’ … What was alarming to me is that in most of these scenarios, when the pastor would say, I’m literally quoting Jesus Christ, the response would be, ‘Yes, but that doesn’t work anymore. That’s weak.’”
When Christians are quick to publicly proclaim that the teachings of Jesus are antiquated and weak, we have a crisis on our hands. As my friend @Brcremer always says, “when you worship power, things like mercy, empathy, and compassion sound like weakness.”

Sometimes government persecution against Christians is very real.
My friend, pastor Mark Hilbelink, and Sunrise Community Church here in Austin are being sued by Texas AG Ken Paxton because of their ministry to unhoused folks.
Where are all the conservative religious liberty advocates? Why aren’t they condemning this targeted harassment against a church trying to live out the call of Christ?
White evangelicals love to cry “persecution” when someone says “happy holidays,” but are nowhere to be found when actual religious persecution comes. https://t.co/ZRZWI1zi4b
I’ll never understand how we all watched this live on television and didn’t immediately disqualify Donald Trump from public office for the rest of his life.
People who say this election could be the "end of democracy" are so extra...
Or maybe they know the TRUE history of the election-denying white supremacist who led a violent insurrection, overturned a presidential election and ended democracy in America.

Saying Jesus is Lord is also saying “I’ll follow the Lord wherever He leads,” which, in the case of Jesus, means feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, welcoming the stranger, and loving all neighbors.
It is a declaration that your allegiance belongs to His ways and no other.
