This is why the US-Canada trade negotiations collapsed.
The US wanted to have control over the trade deals Canada was making around the world.
Furthermore, they wanted to use Canada (Canada's resources) as a leverage for their own deal and diplomatic activities around the world.
All while still restricting and tariffing Canada's access to the US economy.
If this was the case as Mark Carney claims, I fully support walking away from these negotiations. It's completely ludicrous and irrational.
I put together the key moments he explains it.
The amazing @lalshareef explains how Israel removed Jews from Gaza in 2005 to get peace, leaving behind greenhouses worth millions of dollars.
The Palestinians looted the greenhouses, and Gaza was turned into a terror fortress.
This must go viral.
President Trump demands Canada change its French language, Quebec culture and Canadian identity as a condition for reversing tariffs.
This is no longer about a trade deal-it is about a takeover of Canada's sovereignty and identity.
National Farmers Union statement on Trump plan to import 300,000 metric tons of ground beef
"Consumers deserve to know where their beef comes from, and American farmers and ranchers deserve credit for raising it. Imported beef is just a handout for monopoly meatpackers.."
I ranch with my 85 year old Dad who has been a die hard Trump fan.
Whenever I criticize any Trump decision, even slightly, he’ll get personally offended and won’t want to talk about it. So I’ve
avoided voicing my disdain over his attacks on Massie, spending, Ag, etc. when Dad is in the room.
Today, after the beef import announcement, Dad shook his head, sadly, and said, “you know, I really don’t think he gives a damn about anyone who isn’t rich, and sure not about ranchers. Never wanted to believe that until today.”
There wasn’t a more stalwart Trump supporter on the planet.
Trump is losing the room.
Trump announced they are importing a bunch of foreign beef (with your tax dollars) and then selling it at a 25% loss to appease the consumers before the midterms. Not only is that communism, it undercuts American beef producers. Why they still support Trump I'll never understand
Trump reported a staggering 1,051 trades in his June financial disclosure. Here are two of the more curious ones:
— June 18: Bought $250K–$500K in Boeing, the same day the Navy awarded Boeing an $880 million contract for P-8A training systems.
— June 23: Bought $15K–$50K in SpaceX, the same day NASA recorded a $425.6 million award to SpaceX.
A senior Hamas official (accidentally) reveals the absolute truth in a Freudian slip during a television interview:
"WE PALESTINIANS ARE NOT INDIGENOUS of this place. We are Arabs. Half of us are actually Egyptians, and the other half are Saudis. We are not from here!"
In my judgement, the US Armed Forces have probably permanently lost access to 15 Persian Gulf bases. Iran now poised to control access the Gulf States. US will have to negotiate new access in western Saudi Arabia, Israel, southern Europe.
My name is Sarah Milgrim, and I was murdered by a pro-Palestine terrorist last year outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC, USA.
My killer's mugshot has never been released.
Prosecutors are trying to enact the death penalty on him, while Elias Rodriguez, my killer, has pleaded not guilty.
When he entered the museum after shooting me and my boyfriend to death, Elias wore a keffiyeh and shouted, "I did it for Palestine. I did it for Gaza," and "shame on Zio-nazi terror" at the people inside before being arrested.
He now faces life in prison.
I was the first American Jewish woman killed in a terror attack inspired by Israeli Derangement Syndrome after October 7th.
My killer must face justice.
Please don't forget me.
As a Retired US Army paratrooper, pictures like these hit hard. Trump never had the courage to pick up a rifle and man a post when he was called to serve.
Yet he has the nerve to promote AI pictures like this showing him wearing things like Parachutist badges, and rows of ribbons he never had to courage to obtain. Anyone who has ever served should be pissed at garbage like this.
His father paid a doctor’s note so he wouldn't have to serve. But remember that for every one of the draft deferments, someone else had to go in his place.
A pure disgrace.
The US decision to launch a trade war against Canada while it is in the midst of a foolish war with Iran, while China is laughing at its weakness, while the deficit is exploding and bond markets are calling BS...
shows that the US government is not acting in US national interest.
USS Abraham Lincoln’s resupply problems weren’t a mystery. Iran hit NSA Bahrain—the 5th Fleet’s main logistics hub—hard in February. The Navy had to shift to Diego Garcia, 2,200 miles away instead of ~800. Transit times roughly tripled, so replenishment dropped from every ~3 days to ~10. That’s the logistics reality behind the shortages and 200+ days at sea without a port call. The Pentagon fired the editor of Stars and Stripes for telling the truth.
For over a year, Canada has worked intensively and in good faith with the United States to negotiate a new comprehensive trade deal. We have been pragmatic, patient, and persistent. Our goal has always been to get the best deal for Canadians, never a deal at any price or on any time frame.
Late last evening I instructed our negotiators to return to Ottawa. We cannot accept what the U.S. has offered, and we will not give what they have asked.
Canada will match the U.S.’ new tariffs dollar for dollar in order to protect Canadian workers, farmers, families, and businesses. We take this step confident that it is in the best interests of Canada.
In the coming days, we will release the details of these new tariff measures, which will come into force the Tuesday after Labour Day.
For years, the @UN said Gaza was starving, and Israel was singularly to blame.
In 2023, it warned of mass starvation.
In 2024, famine was “imminent.”
By 2025, the UN-backed IPC said famine was happening.
Now, new UN data shows acute malnutrition across Gaza at 0.2% to 0.8%, comparable to or below pre-war levels, and lower than neighboring Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan.
Those famine claims were used to accuse Israel of deliberately starving civilians, despite questionable methodology, shifting thresholds, and data that did not support the claims.
Which raises the question: if there was never a famine in Gaza, why was the UN so invested in falsifying one?
