I am starting a campaign called #saymyname to honor our true and given names. No nicknames unless we agree to/prefer it. No assumption on what our last name is when we come to the US. #saymyname like it was given to me.

Shoutout to those of us who have been/are doing the invisible yet hardest job of unlearning what doesn’t serve us well/ childhood trauma and learning new ways of being that brings us joy and healing.

Here is my challenge to you for Black history month AND beyond:
-Audit your Linkedin connections. Do they all/mostly look like you? Take time to intentionally enrich your network with diverse talent
-Do the same with your other social media pages
Or “how come our board is not representative of our memebrs/employees? What I found is that most folks I come across welcome having this perspective and are open to collaborating towards a better representation.
-We can only operate from our perspectives and w/in our networks so diversifying your network helps you be intentional about offering opportunities to diverse talent
-Be comfortable making good, necessary trouble by asking qns like “when was the last time we had a woman speaker?
