We still lack a good unifying mathematical theory of deep learning. It will be interesting to see when models develop one, for two reasons:

1) It's likely on the path to RSI, since it could unlock large algorithmic gains. Optimizers (Adam, Muon, etc) will likely be first.

2) It would go beyond solving well-posed formal problems and demonstrate genuine theory-building: knowing which problems to pose, which abstractions matter, and which to introduce.

It saddens me to announce that I will be taking an unscheduled and indeterminate break from collecting on @Objkt (and by extension @dropdotart). If you wish to know the nuances of my reasoning, and I follow you, you may reach out to me by DM. I do plan to create a thread at some point explaining in detail this decision.

Briefly, I believe the lack of transparency and due process rights for artists regarding how Obkjt determines they have violated terms of use and the actions Objkt is allowed to take to "restrict" (i.e., hide, brick, destroy) an artist's account, are ultimately untenable for both the artists and collectors who need more substantial protections against arbitrary and authoritarian "take-downs" resulting in overnight destruction of one's creative efforts as well as the elimination of collectors' value.

I will return to collecting on Objkt once it has been demonstrated to me that the Objkt leadership is committed to true protection of artists' and collectors' interests with real due process and appeals rights. Until then, I will continue to support this community in other ways on X via posts and Spaces.
